The Samba Kidz Performing Troupe is made up of kids and youth who have progressed through our programs and are ready to entertain! The Kidz deliver live, crowd-pleasing, hip-shaking world music that receives rave reviews from audiences. In the last four years, the Samba Kidz have wowed audiences at high profile events such as The Beaches Jazz Festival, Kensington Festival of Lights, Meagan’s Walk Parade, the Easter Seals Telethon on CBC television and onstage at Dundas Square with Brazilian megastar Carlinhos Brown celebrating the Brazilian day of independence. These opportunities are not only a lot of fun for audiences, they’re great for our Kidz, bolstering their self-esteem and sense of community. When you hire the Samba Kidz for your event, you’ll not only enjoy the music, you’ll feel great knowing that you’re expanding the horizons of the kidz onstage. Not only that, but our booking fee goes directly towards improving the lives of children, youths and families in under-served areas of Toronto. You can see the kidz in action at their recent performance at the Neighbourhood Arts Network launch at Harbourfront Centre. Samba Kidz enriches the lives of inner-city children and youth by engaging them in music and the arts. Through subsidized programs in world music drumming, steel pan, dance, theatre and art, kids who might otherwise fall through society’s cracks increase their confidence, life skills and chances for success.
